Will Marijuana Reform Will Be On The Ballot This November For These Key States?
The year 2019 didn’t make a lot of headway with cannabis legalization, but 2020 is set to change that. Being an election year, things are likely to be different. Let’s look at the states where marijuana legalization will be voted on this year.
New Jersey has 62% support for the move and the number are only increasing. South Dakota is working towards legalizing personal possession of up to an ounce and the nurturing of up to three plants.
Arizona has had several campaigns working tirelessly for the movement with the Arizona Cannabis Chamber of Commerce promoting the Small Business Liberty Act. This will legalize the possession and use of cannabis by adults. Arkansas, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Idaho, and Mississippi are other states gearing up for the vote.
Nebraska Medical Marijuana Initiative is leading the way. It is sponsored by Nebraskans for Medical Marijuana. If legalized, the people there would get the right to grow, buy, and consume marijuana for medical reasons.
This is another effort supported by the New Approach PAC and the Marijuana Policy Project. It has until July 2 to come up with a signature count equal to 10 percent of registered voters on that date, a figure estimated to be around 122,000.
According to a 2017 polling, about 77% supported the legalization. That is a pretty good number. With every state putting in some effort, November will tell us what is going to happen.
