CBD Helps With Seizures And Anxiety For Stock Car Racing Driver Matt Tifft
Tifft, a Cup rookie last year, suffered his first seizure shortly before practice Oct. 26 in the Front Row Motorsports’ hauler at Martinsville Speedway. After the Dec. 12 seizure, there was one common theme: Tifft had been off his keto diet both times.
Now, by understanding the reason behind it and by using CBD products to deal with the anxiety, he feels better than before. When he went off the diet, it led to food poisoning and a case of extreme infection leading to the seizure. After his brain surgery in 2016, he became nervous about being in public. This is when he started using CBD to deal with the panic.
While he is improving by the day and hopes to start driving a streetcar by the end of the month, it could take a while before he can enter racing again, if ever. Sports leagues don’t agree on CBD usage, with each harboring different opinions. In 2018, the World Anti-Doping Agency removed CBD from its list of banned substances. This means that this year, athletes would be able to use CBD legally in the Olympics. The Pain Management Committee of the NFL and NFL Players Association are also looking into the same to understand its effects better before taking any decision.
