New Research Shows Certain Cannabinoids Are Effective Against Cancer Cells
With new studies on gastrointestinal cancers and its cure, questions are being asked if certain cannabinoids kill cancer cells. The treatment usually involved surgery, chemotherapy, or a combination of these measures. The latest study by Cannabics Pharmaceuticals finds that cannabinoids like CBC and CBG could actually help treat gastrointestinal cancer by generating an anti-tumor effect.
CBC is created when CBG acid is exposed to UV light while CBG is not as well-known as CBD and THC but is linked with different gastrointestinal health benefits as well. The latter is also known to hinder colon cancer progression.
Cannabics Pharmaceuticals found that CBC and CBG are able to create distinctly higher rates of necrosis in cancer cells and hence, offer some powerful benefits thanks to their Topological Polar Surface Area. This could be what that could allow doctors to bring personalization into cannabinoid-based cancer treatments.
While this study, and several others involving cannabinoids and their effect on cancer cells, is promising, some health experts do indicate that there are still certain aspects of cannabinoids’ anti-cancer properties that we have yet to understand.
