Concerned About Traveling With CBD?
If you want to take your CBD products along when you go on a trip, you can! CBD is legal across the U.S. as long as it contains less than 0.3% THC. You can also fly with it if it is hemp-derived and of course, meets the THC criteria.
This is a relatively recent announcement, updated in the spring of 2019 after the Farm Bill of 2018 was put into place. With CBD oil being unveiled as a non-harmful substance that is somewhat controlled by the USDA, TSA has removed it from the cannot fly list.
Your CBD product will still need to meet the airport’s 3.4-ounce rule for liquids. For larger quantities, it is advised that you check-in your baggage. While the TSA does not search for marijuana or other drugs, if caught in possession of cannabis products, one could face legal consequences.
If you are planning to cross borders, the rules remain the same. Do keep in mind that if you are crossing borders and the destination does not have laws supporting cannabis, you could face penalties. While you will not have much trouble with pure hemp-derived CBD oil, you may need to put in some research before traveling with other kinds of cannabis products. CBD oil has a lot of benefits, such as offering pain relief, anxiety relief, better skin, and deeper sleep, allowing you to make the most of your vacation.
