Women’s Soccer Is Coming Back. And CBD Is Coming With It.
The National Women’s Soccer League is coming back and the competition is slated to begin on June 27. The league is working on a month-long tournament in Utah, however, there will not be any fans to cheer them on.
The facilities the teams will share belong to Utah Royals FC, which earlier this year entered into a sponsorship agreement with Mendi, a CBD company based out of Portland.
One of the Mendi’s founders is Rachael Rapinoe, whose twin sister Megan is a vocal supporter of CBD. Portland’s team, the Thorns, are sponsored by a CBD company called Social CBD.
The brand’s name is splashed over all the place, across the team’s warm-up gear, on their social media accounts, and all their gear. Across America, leagues have slowly started accepting the use of CBD. However, with its strong initiative, the NWSL seems to be leading the way. In April, the North Carolina Courage held a giveaway on social media where the lucky winner got to enjoy an autographed jersey, tickets to a game, and a whole lot of CBD!
