New Zealand Study Finds CBD As An Effective Treatment For A Range Of Conditions
Kevin William Simpson, founder of the OilsBySimpson, talks about the outcome of a new CBD study in New Zealand that effectively dealt with pain, depression, and anxiety. From 2017, CBD gained legal status in the country and physicians started prescribing it to those who needed it. The University of Auckland conducted a study and published it in the British Journal of General Practice Open. The 397 patients involved in this study had recently received a prescription for CBD oil for different conditions. The patients were surveyed before taking CBD and then again after three weeks of CBD use. The study measures various factors like dosage, impact on the quality of life, and its tolerability. The research was fairly successful with the participants stating their quality of heath went up by 13.6 points on the EQ-VAS scale after CBD treatment.
Participants also saw improvements in specific symptoms. Patients suffering from mental health conditions saw significant improvements to their depression and anxiety symptoms as well as reduced pain levels and an increased ability to complete their usual activities.
However, there did not seem to be any statistically significant improvement in those with neurological symptoms. The study also concluded that CBD treatment does not have any serious side effects. 70% of the patients had a positive experience with CBD while 30% stated it had no benefit. The high participant drop-out rates and the high cost of CBD were the main restrictive factors in the study.
