First ISO-Accredited And State-Approved Cannabis Testing Laboratory Opens As Subsidiary Of Nebraska-Based Doane University
In a press release published last week, Cannabis Testing Laboratories (CTL) announced they have achieved ISO 17025 accreditation as part of the Nebraska Department of Agriculture requirements for cannabis labs operating in the state.
CTL is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nebraska-based Doane University. CTL will be working in the university’s laboratory where it has rented a space and the team is headed by an all-female management team. This is the first ISO-accredited and state-approved cannabis testing laboratory in the state and that is incredible. With continuous testing, farmers will be able to make sure they don’t grow hemp with high THC levels which are illegal in the state. CBD users will also find this testing useful since there are many occasions when CBD products don’t really contain what the label displays.
While the CTL will be working separately, the lab could be used by the students and faculty to learn more. The lab is also working towards teaching cannabis-related subjects. The Doane University launched its Professional Cannabis Certificate Program in 2019. This year, the university announced seven additional cannabis-related courses. With a reliable cannabis testing lab in Nebraska, it could provide benefits to a lot of entities.
