Safety Concerns Diminish As Pet Owners See The Positive Results Of CBD
AmericanMarijuana.org recently surveyed over 1,000 consumers who give their pets Cannabidiol (CBD). The survey aimed to gauge the attitudes of pet owners, their veterinarians, and what factors influenced their decisions.
The participants were from different backgrounds, income levels, and age groups. Most respondents were concerned about CBD’s efficacy before trying it. 61% of the users mentioned that safety was a big concern before trying it and 40% mentioned that they are happy with it after giving it a try. 63% of respondents indicated they tried other forms of medication before trialing CBD on their pets. Of that 63%, over 80% agreed that CBD was safer, effective, and they are likely to stick to it now. It was such a hit that as many as 9 out of 10 participants mentioned that they would recommend CBD for pets to others.
Coming to vets, about 35% of the participants mentioned that their vets advised them to use CBD on their pets while 10% of respondents said that their vets were not very sure about CBD’s efficacy for pets. Dwight K. Blake, who authored the survey, felt that vets could be recommending CBD a bit too much since they believe it is the best thing out there. Another reason could be the money involved there since companies could have a tie-up with the vets. While there are no standard regulations for pet use, most vets are educated in the use of CBD to treat their furry patients. Even though many users are facing financial problems due to COVID-19, 36% of the respondents mentioned that they are still willing to buy CBD for pets post-pandemic.
