Much Needed Study Will Provide The FDA Definitive Data On The Effects Of CBD On Human Liver.
Two scientists will lead a third-party consumer research study on the effects of regular CBD use on humans, particularly focused on liver safety.
The study will be conducted by Dr. Keith Aqua, a medical doctor, and Dr. Jeff Lombardo, a pharmacist and an expert in toxicology. This national 60-day clinical trial will try to gauge the potential liver effects in healthy adults who are ingesting hemp-derived CBD. They will cover the effects of full- and broad-spectrum CBD along with CBD isolate. This research and trial project has been approved by the Institutional Review Board and the study was designed by ValidCare. ValidCare has received a lot of feedback on the scope of this trial. The results of the study will be shared with the FDA, allowing them to make better decisions.
With over 1,000 participants in the study, the team would be able to make better tests and understand better the various factors involved. The team would be focusing on liver damages due to the consumption of cannabis. It is a known side effect of Epidiolex, the only FDA-approved CBD drug. The team will measure the liver’s enzyme levels and monitor them to see if it is impacted.
