With Life Returning To Normal Post Pandemic, Our Pets May Have Some Trouble With The Transition. CBD, And Some Simple Steps, Can Help.
With the lockdown easing across the world, we need to get our pets used to a different life where we are not with them 24/7 basis.
With pets also susceptible to anxiety and depression, it’s important to prepare them for their new routines and to get them used to spending a lot more time on their own.
Separation anxiety is seen more in dogs than cats and it can cause negative behavior traits like whining and barking, seeking attention, excessive grooming, and getting aggressive. It is a good idea to invest in a pet cam to observe your pet and see if they are showing symptoms of separation anxiety.
A great way to prevent this would be to make gradual changes for dogs. Get your pet into a routine. Instead of walks at any time of the day, start sticking to a schedule. If you tend to play with your doggo during the day, try to reduce playtime and keep it in the evenings if that is going to be your schedule going forwards. If you got a pup during lockdown, make sure it socializes with other people and dogs for better mental health.
Like us, our dogs also need to wind down and relax. Teach them to switch off at the end of the day when they go to sleep. Consider purchasing new toys and games with which they can entertain themselves and not depend on you. CBD oil can also help them cope with changes and anxiety.
